Optimizing the Classroom Environment

Walk into any early childhood classroom and the environment is already teaching. The question is what it is teaching.

This training gives educators and leaders a practical framework for evaluating and improving classroom environments across learning centers, materials, traffic flow, sensory load, and cultural responsiveness. Giving them the tools to ensure that their well-designed classroom invites exploration, supports self-regulation, reduces behavior challenges, and reflects the identities of the participating children and families.

What particpants will walk away with:

  • Practical strategies for organizing learning centers, materials, and transitions that reduce behavior challenges and maximizes resources

  • Tools to ensure the environment reflects the cultures, languages, and identities of the children served

  • Guidance on environment design that supports children with diverse abilities and needs
