Site Leadership Coaching

Site leadership is one of the highest-leverage roles in early childhood education and one of the loneliest. Site directors are expected to manage staff, navigate parent concerns, hit compliance benchmarks, build culture, and make a hundred small decisions a day, often without a thought partner who has walked the same road.

Site Leadership Coaching is built for the leaders who are ready to grow. This is not a one-time training. It is an ongoing coaching engagement designed to meet site leaders where they are, identify the highest-leverage growth areas, and build the skills and habits that drive both leadership effectiveness and program performance. Coaches bring direct experience leading high-quality Head Start and early childhood programs, so the conversation is grounded in the realities of the work.

How the program is designed:

  • Initial Management Briefing

  • Leadership Assessment

  • Individualized coaching plan based on leadership assessment results and program needs.

  • Collaborative work to implement best practices aligned with local, state, and federal early childhood education standards, including the 2024 Head Start Program Performance Standards

  • Joint development of action plans to address specific leadership challenges and program priorities

  • A trusted coaching relationship with constructive, direct feedback designed to strengthen leadership practice and program performance

  • Progress monitoring with detailed reports on coaching outcomes and leadership development

What particpants will walk away with:

  • Sharper leadership skills across team management, decision-making, and conflict resolution

  • A clearer sense of their leadership identity, strengths, and growth areas

  • Practical strategies aligned with local, state, and federal early childhood regulations

  • An action plan for addressing the specific challenges in front of them

  • A trusted coaching relationship that supports their growth across the engagement

  • Documented progress and outcomes that demonstrate the impact of the coaching investment

Why coaching makes a difference:

Programs do not rise above the leaders who run them. When site leaders grow, staff retention improves, classroom quality strengthens, family engagement deepens, and compliance becomes the byproduct of strong practice rather than a constant scramble.
