When Progress Is Slow

Mar 05, 2026

Some leadership seasons don’t come with quick wins. You’re showing up, covering gaps, supporting your team, and still… results feel delayed. Slow progress does not mean you’re failing. It usually means you’re leading through complexity.

Perseverance isn’t grinding harder. Perseverance is staying anchored and consistent while choosing the next step.

Leadership is stewardship - using influence to move people toward aligned outcomes with clarity, confidence, and connection. Perseverance protects that stewardship when motivation is low or momentum is slow.

Instead of being hyper focused on how slow things are moving, try these three practices:
1) Focus on what you can control.
2) Create micro-wins. Name one small milestone daily.
3) Use a reset ritual. Pause, identify what you are thinking or feeling, and choose the most meaningful way to respond (not react).

Next faithful step—on purpose—again and again. That’s perseverance, and perseverance produces impact.
